When it comes to living an Audacious Life, there are two questions that you absolutely must ask yourself:
- What do I want?
- What is it worth to me?
I often tell people (read: my husband, my children, and anyone who happens to be around when I'm off on a rant) that they can have anything they want out of life—if they're willing to make the even exchange of time, effort, money, and/or other resource.
This is one of the driving philosophies behind the Audacious Life Movement. With the right application of effort and resources—and the expectation that you will receive what you're striving for—you will get exactly the life you want, need, and deserve.
2 Questions to Define Your Audacious Life and Plan Your Course of Action
Take some time to answer these questions fully. The more thought you put into your answers, the clearer idea you'll have of what your Audacious Life looks like. (And what you're willing to do to get it.)
Question #1: What do you want?
When asked, most people don't know what they want.
They know what they don't want: they don't want to be treated like *this,* they don't want the job they're in, they don't want to deal with this bullsh*t.
But when you ask, "Well, what do you want?" Crickets.
What you don't want is a good starting place; it's an indication of the pain points and discontent in your life. But to truly live an Audacious Life, you have to go beyond that.
One such way to clarify what you want is to imagine your Perfect Day. This day is representative of how you live the majority of your life (not vacations or holidays). Ask yourself:
- What time do you wake up?
- What do you see when you open your eyes?
- How do you start your day?
- What do you do during the day?
- What time do you break for meals?
- What do you do at the end of the day?
- What time do you go to bed?

Question #2: What is it worth to you?
To illustrate this concept, I often say that I could be a supermodel if I wanted to.
Keep in mind that the definition of a supermodel is "a highly paid fashion model who usually has a worldwide reputation and often a background in haute couture and commercial modeling," with the common body standards for female models being measurements of 34"-24"-34" and a height between 5'8" and 5'11". 
According to these standards, I am
- too short
- too thick
- lacking experience in commercial modeling
- lacking experience in haute couture modeling
- not widely known
- not highly paid
BUT. I could be.
If I really, truly wanted to be a supermodel, there are steps I could take.
I could undergo procedures to restart my growth process or lengthen bones in my legs. (I only need an inch, so I'm almost there.)
I could diet and diet and DIET until my measurements were within range.
I could begin seeking experience in commercial modeling.
I could prostrate myself in front of Ford Models to get some of the haute couture gigs. (Or use my connections!)
I could seek to join the "Instagirls" and help propel myself to fame through social media.
And, in the end, I would eventually become a household name and get paid.
But at what cost?
Thousands of dollars of surgery. No enjoyment of my food or my life. Going on multiple "go and sees" that would take me away from my family. (Possible) groveling.
To me, that's not worth it. I could become a supermodel, but the cost in terms of time, money, energy, other resources, and sacrifice is too high for me.
As you identify the elements of your Audacious Life or think about other things you may want, ask yourself: "What is is worth?"
If it's worth it to you, go for it. Absolutely.
If the cost is too high, though, perhaps it's not meant to be part of your Audacious Life.
